Focus on economic diversity, education and water in Nevada

I’m Tony Grady and I’m running for lieutenant governor for Nevada. I’m a retired Air Force Lt. Col. and career airman. I am a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy (B.Sc. in Astronautical Engineering) and two graduate degrees (Masters in Systems Management from the University of Southern California and Masters in Art and Science of Air Power from the Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama). I was a USAF pilot and a test pilot. Additionally, I have extensive leadership experience culminating as a B-2 Squadron Commander. After my Air Force career, I flew for FedEx. I am a conservative Christian Republican who sees the need to oppose the destructive policies implemented by the current administration.

There are three issues I would like to highlight in this article: Nevada’s economic diversity, education, and water.

First, it is clear from our COVID lockdown that we need to diversify Nevada’s economy. Total addiction to gambling and tourism carries risks. Increased manufacturing and information technology will help, along with continued attention to mining and agriculture.

Second, our education system is key to the diversity and economic future of our economy. There is no place in our educational system for the malignantly divisive CRT. There is no reasonable explanation for forcing sexual instruction on our youngest innocent students. These destructive ideologies must be defeated unequivocally; I will fight headlong! We should focus on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and solid vocational training. I would recommend replacing the CRT with the “1776 unites,” and the Cornerstone Curriculum that teach a balanced view of United States history.

Finally, water will become even more important than it is now. Not only is population growth increasing the pressure on our cities’ water supply, but it is also greatly affecting our rural communities, which, incidentally, adds to our economic diversity. All stakeholders must be brought together around the table to ensure that we use this essential resource wisely. My organizational and leadership skills, along with my strong foundation in STEM education will be an asset going forward as we tackle these issues.
