JK Cement Partners with ESSCI and IG Drones to Build Future Workforce for India’s Drone Industry

New Delhi, December 11: A tripartite memorandum of understanding was signed between the Yadupati Singhania Vocational Education Foundation (YPSVEF), an initiative of JK Cement, the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and IG Drones on November 25 2021

The Yadupati Singhania Vocational Education Foundation (YPSVEF) is one of the most advanced and best equipped vocational training centers in India which has been instrumental in their work i.e. human resource development . They are now contributing to the nation’s growth and development on the technological and infrastructural fronts. Today, several interns from these centers have proven to be brand ambassadors of skills development, transforming not only their own lives, but also those of their families and communities.

IG Drones’ association with ESSCI dates back to August 2021, where they collaborated with the intention of upgrading 10 million young people with advanced drone technology. Being aligned with the national education policy, the collaboration had broadened the scope of imparting knowledge related to drone technology through professional courses for different age groups with the aim of broadening the horizons of young children. , facilitating their growth and improvement.

India is already on its way to becoming a leader in drone technology. According to Drone Federation India reports, there are at least 100 drone manufacturers, 200 drone service providers and over 1 lakh of drone pilots in India. And the drone industry is sure to generate around 5-7 lakh job opportunities for people all over the country. The only requirement is a group of young people, well equipped with knowledge related to drone technology.

The tripartite MoU is sure to project a whole new university into India’s drone ecosystem.

As part of this memorandum of understanding, the parties agreed to improve the training infrastructure of ESSCI partner institutes as well as young students of YPSVEF professional centers with a common objective of making future generations of Nation sufficiently qualified and able to cope with rapid technological progress.

Although we have already established ourselves as one of the leading importing countries of drones with great use in all fields, proper skills and employment opportunities are essential to ensure its long term. Thus, this collaboration aims to sensitize young people to the transformation of drone technology, paving the way for a “developed” nation. With the next wave of 10 million young people being trained with the new drone ecosystem in place, India will soon be the Drone Hub of the World.
