BARCLAY TRAINING CENTER – The Liberian Armed Forces have announced January 4, 2022 as the start date of their nation-wide recruiting campaign aimed at increasing the AFL’s strength.
The AFL has said it will recruit Liberian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35, who wish to be drafted into the Liberian Armed Forces.
According to Deputy Defense Minister for Public Affairs Sam Collins, the Defense Ministry and the Liberian Armed Forces will not compromise the values ââand standards on which the new AFL was built, stressing that the recruitment drive is voluntary and that those who wish to join the AFL will have to do so on merit.

The nationwide recruiting campaign will take place in four geographic regions. The four geographic regions are Central region, Western Region, Northern Region and Southeast Region.
the Central region consists of the counties of Montserrado, Margibi and Grand Bassa with a recruiting center at the Barclay Training Center. Central region recruitment will take place from January 4 to February 5, 2022. The Western region includes Grand Cape Mount, Bomi and Gbapolu counties with a recruiting center in the city of Tubmanburg. Western region recruitment will take place from February 7 to 19, 2022. The Northern region is made up of Lofa, Bong and Nimba counties. The Gbarnga sports stadium is the recruiting center, and the recruiting will take place from February 21 to March 5, 2022. Finally, the South East Region includes the counties of Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Maryland, Grand Kru, River Cess and Sinoe. South East Region Recruitment center is Zwedru Multilateral High School and recruitment will take place from March 7 to 19, 2022.
Liberian citizens wishing to enlist in the Armed Forces of Liberia must be cleared of any human rights violation or violation, they must be a high school graduate or its professional equivalent from a recognized professional institution, they must be in good health physical and medical, they must have a bachelor’s degree and above; they must be fully vaccinated against (COVID-19), they must have birth and health certificates and national identity cards such as a national identity card, voter card or passport and bring two passport size photos.
