Cabinet Secretary for Education, Professor George Magoha has warned teachers against using their mobile phones during the ongoing marking exercise for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (KCSE)

This is not a new policy, but it has always been the norm. However, teachers can use their gargets after completing the grading exercise work for each day schedule.

At the start of the exercise, Professor George Magoha of Education CS assured the public that the exams were conducted under strict guidelines to ensure exam integrity and maintain standards.

The scoring exercise started a week ago and is taking place in 35 scoring centers across the country. Candidates must wait for their results on the 28th of this month, precisely in two weeks to allow candidates to join colleges and vocational training.

The first batch of applicants are expected to join the university from June this year, Magoha said. The KUCCPS is fixed as soon as the results are published; the body will immediately initiate the placement of candidates in various universities.

Education officials say candidates won’t need to waste time outdoors; instead, they should move on to secondary school almost immediately.

This year’s review saw CS put strict measures and rules in place to ensure the integrity of the entire process was maintained.
