Ministry of Health – Abu Dhabi joins AstraZeneca’s A.Catalyst Network to attract and support start-ups worldwide


In the presence of HE Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed, President of the Ministry of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), and Hisham MirghaniDirector of General Affairs, the agreement was signed during the BIO 2022 international convention held between June 13-16 in San Diego, CaliforniaUnited States A Abu Dhabi delegation participates to showcase the domestic growth and economic development of that of Abu Dhabi biotechnology industry.

By partnering with AstraZeneca’s A.Catalyst Network, the DoH will be able to leverage the expertise of the network which includes more than 20 global healthcare innovation hubs comprised of physical locations and virtual partnerships. The network focuses on innovation in disease awareness, diagnostics, treatment wellness and wellness to create a more holistic patient experience.

At DoH, we are committed to bringing innovation to healthcare systems in the UAE. We believe it is essential to connect with global innovation hubs around the world, to accelerate innovative discoveries with the aim of revolutionizing healthcare in the UAE and beyond. »

Hisham MirghaniGeneral Affairs Director, AstraZeneca, highlighted: “AstraZeneca is a key strategic partner of the DoH, working jointly to develop a digital health system and pushing efforts to innovate solutions in a variety of health areas such as diagnostics, devices, digital health , drug development, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, which together help meet the demand of the healthcare sector.”

Additionally, the A.Catalyst Network acts as a bridge that brings together diverse stakeholders to forge non-traditional partnerships across geographic boundaries, facilitating collaborative action and opening up new opportunities to enhance patient-facilitated innovation.
