NJUA ANNOUNCES THREE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Trenton – The New Jersey Utilities Association (NJUA) today announced that three separate scholarship opportunities are now available to New Jersey residents. They include the James R. Leva Scholarshipthe Diversity Excellence Scholarship and the Business and Professional Scholarship.

“Each of these scholarships offers distinct and unique opportunities for support at a New Jersey vocational school or institution of higher education,” said NJUA President and CEO Thomas R. Churchelow, Esq. “We encourage anyone who is eligible to apply online as soon as possible. We are invested in the future success of New Jersey and hope these scholarships can provide the opportunity to pursue the educational and career goals of those in need.

the James R. Leva Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is an employee of an NJUA member company who is employed in New Jersey, or their family members, in pursuit of their higher education goals. The scholarship is named after James R. Leva, president of the NJUA from 1990 to 1991, whose professional accomplishments serve as a role model for those seeking professional advancement through continuing education. the Diversity Excellence Scholarship will be awarded to two minority, female, or disabled students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university located in New Jersey. The scholarship is $1,500 per year, with a maximum of $6,000. Further information, including eligibility requirements, application procedures and deadlines, is available. here.

the Business and Professional Scholarship will be awarded to a qualified student who will be pursuing a business or vocational degree at an accredited school located in New Jersey. The scholarship is up to $6,000 (with a maximum of $1,500 per academic year) based on the total cost of the program to be applied towards tuition only.
