NSDC to host skills competition in India from January 6, winners will represent the country globally

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) will host the IndiaSkills 2021 National Competition at the Indian Business Promotion Organization (ITPO), Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from January 6-10. The winners of the 2021 IndiaSkills National Competition will undergo rigorous training to represent India at WorldSkills Shanghai. , to be held in October 2022.

Over 500 participants from 26 states / union territories, covering 54 skills such as beauty therapy, cybersecurity, floristry, auto body repair, cloud computing, water technology, painting and decoration, health and social services, among others, will participate in one event.

Seven new skills such as robotic systems integration, additive manufacturing, digital construction, industry 4.0, renewable energy, mobile application development and industrial design technology were presented in the competition this year, in phase with emerging technologies.

IndiaSkills winners will receive industry training at multiple levels through boot camps and programs such as project training, corporate and corporate training, industry exhibition tours, mental coaching and training. personality development.

IndiaSkills 2021 started with district and state level competitions in August-September and registered over 2.5 lakh of entries. State level competitions have been held in 26 states / UTs. This was followed by four regional competitions for East (Patna), West (Gandhinagar), North (Chandigarh) and South (Visakhapatnam).

No less than 1,500 competitors competed to qualify for the national round. The 500+ finalists from the four regional championships will now exhibit their skills at the national level to fight for gold and a silver medal in each skill category.

IndiaSkills Nationals will also present Abilympics, a demonstration of skills for people with disabilities (PwD) in 16 skills including computer programming, painting, embroidery and poster design.
