Santana Row in San Jose adds several new merchants to the iconic hub

SAN JOSE – Santana Row has landed several new merchants by adding restaurants and retailers, further proof that the San Jose destination hub is finding ways to thrive amid economic uncertainties over coronaviruses.

Two restaurants, a tea room, a home accessories store and a clothing retailer are the five stores added to Santana Row, San Jose’s iconic mixed-use complex announced Thursday.

New traders are an indicator that Santana Row, whose primary owner and developer is Federal Realty Investment Trust, is recovering from the economic woes that the coronavirus has triggered.

“We can see that the biggest brands want to be in the best locations and Santana Row has proven that,” said Collette Navarrette, Marketing Director, West Coast for Federal Realty. “Brands continue to want to have a physical presence in Santana Row.”

Among the new merchants of Santana Row, there is one that has just opened:

– Left Wing Bar, a Korean chain of fried chicken and beer restaurants, opened its first San Jose location at Santana Row on Thursday.

– American Giant, a San Francisco-based company that was once only an e-commerce retailer, is opening its fifth physical storefront. The men’s and women’s clothing retailer is slated to open in Santana Row in October.

– Boba Guys, a San Francisco boba beverage chain, will open in November. Boba Guys creates drinks made from fresh tea leaves, Straus Family Creamery organic milk, California almond milk or Oatly oat milk.

– Dumpling Time, part of the Omakase restaurant group, will feature Asian dumplings made with a Californian twist. The restaurant is expected to open towards the end of this year.

– CB2, a unit of Crate and Barrel, is opening a home accessories store that will include home collections, furniture and decor. CB2 is expected to be open in the first three months of 2022.

These traders are arriving at Santana Row at a time when the complex of restaurants, shops, entertainment venues, hotel facilities, homes and offices is signaling a major rebound from its 2020 coronavirus-induced crisis.
