Teurlings Catholic Ready to Host Local Families to Tour Campus and Meet Staff on October 26 Open House | Sponsored: Teurlings Catholic High School

Prospective new students and their parents are invited to visit Teurlings Catholic High School on Tuesday, October 26 to tour the campus, meet with staff, and learn about all of the school’s offerings.

Those interested should confirm their attendance in advance on the school’s website, www.tchs.net. The RSVP period opens on Monday, September 27.

On the morning of October 26, Teurlings Catholic will welcome current eighth graders for tours, said Maria Hanes, director of school development.

“Our primary schools always bring their eighth grade classes, but this year we are also opening it to any eighth grade student who is not in one of these primary schools,” Hanes said. “They can confirm their presence for this at the same time as they do for the open house. In the past we’ve seen that some students know they love Teurlings and don’t need to come back in the evening, while others enjoy the campus so much that they want to go back with their parents.

Hanes said the Open House for Parents follows a bell schedule that allows families to take turns spending around seven minutes in each classroom. Student tour guides lead families from room to room.

“They’ll hear a bit of everything,” Hanes said. “They will hear from our administration and other staff members, but also from each university department. They will also receive information about the fun activities we have on campus, as well as sports.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 protocols, all participants will be required to wear masks and practice social distancing. The RSVP process allows the school to control the size of each group.

Hanes said that over the years, many families have indicated that the open houses give them the opportunity to get a feel for the Catholic environment in Teurlings and what their children can expect throughout. throughout their high school career.

“They want a safe and comfortable environment where their child will grow spiritually and academically and have a little fun, which is part of the high school experience,” she said. “When people come to campus, the thing we hear the most is that they feel the family and down-to-earth atmosphere. It is a major attraction. “

Hanes said the environment sets the stage for high-quality academics, including one of the state’s largest dual-enrollment programs, as well as championship-level sports and a wide range of extracurricular activities. Spiritual guidance is also built into every activity and interaction at Teurlings Catholic.

“Our mission is ‘to channel your mind’,” Hanes said. “Our most important goal is to provide quality Catholic education and to ensure that our students are well prepared for college. All of our classes are college preparatory, but we also have even more rigorous honor and dual enrollment classes. We also offer plenty of extra-curricular activities and all Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) sports so students can have the full high school experience.

Teurlings Catholic High School has been in operation since 1955 and caters for grades 9 to 12.e notes. The school is located at 139 Teurlings Drive in Lafayette. For more information or to confirm your attendance for the open house, visit www.tchs.net.
